BACKGROUND OF THE SCHOOL

HISTORY FROM THE BEGINING

Goodness of God Group of Schools was founded in January 1997 by Pastor Isaac and Pastor (Mrs) Margaret Oluwafadurayemi Ewuola. It was declared open on 6th January 1997, with Mr. Ifonteru and others praying for God's intervention in the school's future endeavours. The first teacher to be employed was Mr. Sesan Olayinka, who also became the head teacher.

The school initially started with only six children and operated out of a rented uncompleted building along Akewi lane, Oke-Aro. However, as the school grew, it moved to another rented apartment in the same area. The first end-of-session activities were held on 2nd August 1998.

On 10th April 1998, the school had its first Parent Teacher Association (PTA) meeting, during which Mr. Olajorin Vincent was chosen as the first PTA Chairman. The school then purchased a piece of land full of rocks along Surulere street, Oke-Aro, Akure. With divine help, a storey building with 22 classrooms and a hall was erected on the site, which became the school's headquarters. The school moved into the headquarters on 10th January 2000.

Other branches of the Goodness of God Group of Schools include the Faithfulness of God Foundation School in Alade-Idanre, founded in September 1999 and located along Palace road. It is known as the best school in the entire area. The Goodness of God Comprehensive High School in Oke-Aro is the secondary school arm of the Goodness of God Group of Schools. It was the first branch of the high school and was founded in September 2004. The high school aims to train and equip students with relevant skills to be successful in their chosen professions. It is located on Route 7, 26, Surulere street.

In July 2014, the Goodness of God Group Schools was founded. It is located at the heart of the 4th Gate, Oba Afubiowo Housing Estate, along Idanre Road, Akure. The group comprises both primary and secondary schools and is situated on approximately 4 hectares of land.

The Goodness of God Comprehensive High School in Alade-Idanre started in August 2015. It is located beside the primary arm of the school, Faithfulness of God Foundation School.
